Ten years, six roles, four industries

The engineering problem

A property management platform touches listings, tenants, operations and payments at once. Holding that in a single codebase makes every change a whole-system change, so the work was to split it into in-house services with their own boundaries, and to build the infrastructure that lets those services ship independently.

Major contributions

• Architected and implemented scalable in-house backend microservices in PHP for the property management platform.
• Built the companion mobile application in React Native, shipping to both iOS and Android from a shared codebase.
• Implemented a machine learning model to predict user engagement on the platform's web application, and optimised model inference using TensorFlow Serving.
• Set up the infrastructure pipelines behind all of it (CI/CD, Dockerisation and AWS S3 storage) for repeatable deployment and system reliability.

Leadership responsibility

• Lead software and DevOps engineer for the platform: architecture decisions, service boundaries and deployment ownership sit with this role.

The engineering problem

Government financial systems have to be correct before they can be convenient. The work spanned two shapes of that problem: keeping a payments platform maintainable as it grew, and turning unstructured financial documents into something a tax-compliance process can act on.

Major contributions

• Created scalable microservices for Abiapay using Node.js, and spearheaded ongoing system maintenance and feature enhancements.
• Built an automated tax compliance model using NLP to extract key insights from financial data in Python.
• Delivered the backend systems for the PAYTAX ABIA and PAYTAX IBEJU government tax automation projects.

The engineering problem

A payments platform is mostly other people's systems. Every partner bank, mobile-money operator and biller has its own contract, its own failure modes and its own idea of what 'success' means. The engineering problem is absorbing that variety behind interfaces the rest of the business can rely on.

Major contributions

• Led backend development of the FIAP Transfer Service in Java and Spring Boot, streamlining financial transfer operations across 8+ partner banks.
• Integrated the B2B middleware with MTN's Mobile Money (MoMo) API, extending the platform into MTN's mobile-money financial ecosystem.
• Integrated 14+ value-added-service billers (airtime, electricity and betting among them) into the B2B middleware using Laravel and Node.js.
• Built and maintained the Biller Aggregation Platform (BAP) and its companion BAP Reporting Service (BRS) using Node.js and Java/Spring Boot.
• Designed and implemented the Baxi Card Support Portal in Laravel to improve agent issue-resolution workflows.

Leadership responsibility

• Mentored junior developers as part of the engineering leadership team.
• Coordinated sprint planning and delivery across the team.
• Appointed Assistant Team Lead (2022).

Technologies

The engineering problem

Freight is a physical-world system with a software shadow. Trucks move, signals drop, and routes change mid-journey. Making the platform useful meant treating external tracking feeds and IoT telemetry as first-class inputs rather than dashboard decoration.

Major contributions

• Architected and developed a full-fledged freight management system in Laravel, with a companion mobile application in Kotlin.
• Integrated third-party tracking APIs and IoT logistics data to support dynamic delivery routing.
• Led agile-based iterations, driving continuous improvement from customer feedback and business requirements.

Leadership responsibility

• Team Lead for the engineering function (2018–2020).
• Ran the agile delivery cycle, translating customer feedback and business requirements into iteration scope.

Technologies

The engineering problem

Inheriting a running estate is a different discipline from greenfield work: the constraint is what already ships. The role's value was in sequencing improvements across web and mobile without stalling delivery.

Major contributions

• Led enhancement of existing web and mobile applications built in Laravel, CodeIgniter and Ionic/TypeScript, coordinating engineering priorities across the stack.
• Defined system specifications and performance metrics in collaboration with stakeholders and the engineering team.

Leadership responsibility

• Team Lead (2018): owned cross-stack engineering priorities.
• Worked directly with stakeholders to define specifications and the performance metrics the systems would be judged on.

Technologies

The engineering problem

Public procurement is a high-scrutiny, wide-audience system: the people using it are not a self-selecting technical cohort. Clarity and release quality matter more than novelty.

Major contributions

• Developed the front end of the Osun State Public Procurement Portal using Laravel, CSS and JavaScript.
• Participated in QA testing, deployment and feedback-integration cycles to ensure release quality.
